Paul said:

Paul said: "Pressed alone, and that the two sides: I have a desire to die and be with Christ, for it is far better" jj (Philippians 1:23). However, for the lessons converts, he thought it was better to "stay in the shell" or like that he said, "remain in the body."
Was Paul morbid? Did he have an unhealthy brain-dead idea of death? Is it showing a lack of respect for life with which God blessed him? Absolutely not! Paul lived his life to its fullest potential. For him, life was a gift and he used it to keep fighting the good fight. The winner is the fear of the "sting of death" and now he could say: "It is better to die and be with the Lord, but remain in the body."
Those who die in the Lord are the winners; we who remain are losers. Death is not the ultimate cure, but the resurrection! Death is a transition and that transition is sometimes painful. No matter how much pain and suffering plaguing the body, it is not worth comparing with ineffable glory that awaits those who have made this transition.
Each message about death upsets us. We strive on it do not even think about. We suspect that those who speak about her morbid. Occasionally we talk about how heaven must look like, but death is largely taboo.
How different are the first Christians were! Paul talked a lot about death. In fact, our resurrection from the dead of the New Testament is our "blessed hope". But today the death is considered an intruder who prunes us of the good life to which we are accustomed. So we poured down our lives with material things that we can live jam. The world caught us by materialism. We can no longer stand the thought to leave our beautiful home, beautiful things, charming pets. As you think, "To die now would be a great loss. Love the Lord, but I need time to enjoy their property. Married. Until I have to try their oxen. Need more time."
Have you noticed that today very little talk about heaven or about leaving this old world? Instead, we are bombarded with messages on how to use faith to accomplish more things. What a stunted concept of God's eternal plan! No wonder so many Christians fear the thought of death. The truth is, we are far from understanding Christ's call to forsake the world and all its pitfalls. He invites us to come and die, to die without building the monument itself, to die without worrying about what will be left for us keepsake. Jesus did not leave an autobiography, nor the huge headquarters or university or Bible college. Nothing has been left to capture the memory of himself, but bread and wine.
